Final reflection

I have learnt a lot doing all the activities. I must say that many times I have struggled with the instructions and found it difficult to deal with them without the help of a teacher near me to tell me right then what to do. On the other hand , once I could understand and sometimes after trying and trying and not losing hope, the result was so gratifying and I got so happy because of having been able to do the task, that I forgot the troubles.
My reflection on the course is that I would like it to be much longer to learn more and I wish I had had more time to do it more peacefully. Time, time, to have more time has been really my only problem, learning against time. The fact on being on-line was a bit of a handicap at the begining, but it is funny how this feeling changed as the course went on. There were many times when I had the impression of having the teacher and my peers just by me.
I have felt like a child discovering new things, and enjoying them, that's why I am very grateful to this course, to my teacher and companions in the trip and that's why I will put into practice all the tasks to share them with my students. I like the blog, the animoto video, the audacity activity and find wikis very useful to have units well-organized. I even started working on the google map, but again, time was against me and I couldn't fulfill it, anyway I will practise with the students.

Let's continue travelling

As St. Valentine is about to come, my  Animoto video
is my Valentine to all cultures and countries.
As teachers, I think that an important part of our work
is to teach our students to understand and respect the other,
no matter how different from us he or she is.

Podcast: Introducing E.E. Cummings. Reading poetry

The poet's selfportrait
Let's meet E.E. Cummings

Here we can see a draft of his poem Maggie and  Milly and  Molly and May written and corrected by the artist. It is a popular poem in English literature, in fact I came across it in the "Oxford Treasure of Classic Poems". It is often performed by singers and actors. Here you can hear my performance and then compare with the others. Apart from writing Cummings was also a painter.

Maggie and Milly and Molly and May by E.E, Cummings

E.E. Cummings

My knowledge of E.E. Cummings has just ocurred by chance. In fact, I was looking for a narration or poem related to travelling when I found this little video for children and this performance for the BBC radio. Finding these new things is also a trip, so I have taken it and enjoyed it with the same joy and passion I enjoy visiting new places. Hope you enjoy it, too.
